Unbelievable! Kart #12
started rolling at Saint Joe Hospital in Fort Wayne this
month! Again, we'd like to thank the students,
staff and PTO of Ryan Park Elementary School for funding
this Kart. (May 2010) |

Whitko High School students Ayri Crawford, a junior, and
Logan Ison, a sophomore, held a Kate’s Kart fundraiser
for the Kosciusko Youth Leadership Academy. Quarter wars
were held at the high school with the winning class
getting a donut breakfast, and the middle school hat Hat
day and raffled a new IPOD. All together Ayri raised
$1,193.74 for Kate's Kart! You guys rock! (Spring
2010) |

The
Student Council at
Blackhawk Middle School donated almost $5,000 to
Kate's Kart with funds raised over several months
through a wide variety of fundraisers, such as selling
"puppy chow", a lip sync contest, faculty parties, and
grade level activity nights. We would like to say
THANK YOU to everyone at Blackhawk for the amazing
donation this Christmas season. (November 2009)

Our friends at
Brooks Construction celebrated their
100th anniversary with a Charity Demolition
Derby Bash. Kate's Kart was selected
by
McMahon Tire, who competed on our
behalf.

This

Kate's Kart bookshelf! We are
placing some of our very gently used books in
the offices of local pediatricians.
Hopefully these books will help pass the time as
the kids wait! |

2nd
Degree Black Belt Shobi Simonton,
along with the help of Summers Stories, Haydens
ATA and St. Mary's Catholic School, collected
130 books as part of his black belt leadership
training. The book were donated to the
Parkview Noble Hospital Kart, represented by
Mrs. Blaskie. Summers Stories is located
in Kendallville, Indiana, and Haydens ATA and
St. Mary's Catholic School are in Avilla,
Indiana. (July 2009) |

Canterbury School Book
Drive raised $3,280 in donations and
1,500 books! Thanks to everyone in the
lower, middle and high school for their
continued support of Kate's Kart. Pictured
are some 6th graders with the books. |
Daisy
Girl Scout Troop #20046 used their
"cookie money" to go on a shopping spree for
Kate's Kart at a local bookstore. (June

First
Church of God in Kendallville
sponsored a youth breakfast which brought in 307

As
Kate's Kart sets up to roll Kart #7,
Mrs. Gehrke's 2nd Grade Class at Northwest Elementary
was hard at work collecting books for the new
Kart. The students also helped place
identification labels on the books and load the
new Kart bound for hospital #7 - Parkview
Huntington Hospital.
The second grade class donated 76 new books.

Mrs. Wight's
Class at Aboite Elementary was
awarded a special honor by winning the
Scholastic Book Club's "Care Where You Are"
National Sweepstakes. They chose Kate's Kart as
a special recipient of 2 boxes of brand new
books! Thanks kids! (April 2009) |
Another special thank you goes out to
everyone at Cedar Canyon Elementary.
The
student council did a fund drive between the grade
levels, hanging a shamrock for each dollar donated.
Their total donation was $1,507.08! Plus, the PTA
did a book drive in connection with their annual Falcon
Frenzy Carnival and donated 627 books. (March 2009) |
At
their annual book fair, the students of
Huntertown
Elementary School donated almost 600 books and $74.00 to
Kate's Kart. The book and cash were presented to
Kate's Kart founder, Krista Layman, and her son Seth at
a school assembly. (January 2009) |
