4th Annual Ice Cream Social

 

 

Event Volunteers Page

The planning for the 4th Annual Free Ice Cream Social is well under way, and it's shaping up to be a wonderful day! In addition to the free ice cream, there will also be free kids games and rides, live family-friendly entertainment, a book fair, face painting, and so much more!

 

This year's event is being held on Saturday, June 16, 2012, from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. The event will again be held at Grace Point Church on Mayhew Road.

 

As always, we depend on our volunteers to make this event a continued success. We are asking for a 2-3 hour commitment, with shifts starting at 8:00 a.m. and ending at 5:00 p.m. as follows:

 

8:00 a.m. - 11:00 a.m. Set Up
11:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m. Event Shift #1
1:00 p.m. - 3:00 p.m. Event Shift #2
3:00 p.m. - 5:00 p.m. Tear Down / Clean Up

 

Volunteers are needed to run games, scoop ice cream, face paint, work the book fair, man the welcome tables and various other duties. If you are interested in volunteering, please complete the submission form below.

 

PLEASE NOTE: All volunteers must be at least 12 years of age. If you have young children who will be at the event, and you wish to volunteer, we ask that your children be under someone else's care during your shift so that you are able to focus your full attention on your assigned job.

 

All positions will be filled on a first come basis. You are welcome to invite friends, parents, spouses, etc. to volunteer with you. YOU DO NOT NEED TO BE A HOSPITAL VOLUNTEER TO WORK AT THE ICE CREAM SOCIAL. As a small thank you for your time, volunteers will be provided with a free t-shirt to wear during the event (and to keep as a walking billboard for next year!). Additional t-shirts (including children's sizes) may be ordered in advance for $10.00 (payable at the event).

 

Questions about volunteering may be directed to Rita Berning at riberning@aol.com. We will send out an email closer to the event date detailing your specific assigned duty and further instructions.
